While being the smallest borough in NYC, Manhattan is the most densely populated borough in the city, giving it a unique blend of culture and history. Each community in Manhattan has a distinct vibe and story that differentiates them from other neighborhoods. If you and your group are interested in shopping and art galleries, consider a day in SoHo (South of Houston Street). Known for its impressive cast-iron buildings, SoHo is the perfect destination for luxury shopping, exhibitions, and more! If your crew has a love for history and the arts, head on over to the Harlem neighborhood, located in Upper Manhattan, New York City. This iconic neighborhood is famous for the Harlem Renaissance of the early 20th century- a movement synonymous with black culture that saw an explosion of art, poetry, theater, music, and more. Another neighborhood worth a visit is Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Known originally as a hub for counterculture and the LGBTQ+ community, this neighborhood has maintained its reputation as being a creative and bohemian community. Parks in Manhattan

Despite being known for its skyscrapers, urban living, and fast-paced lifestyle, New York City is home to some of the most iconic and gorgeous parks in the world. As mentioned previously, Washington Square Park, located in Greenwich Village, is just one of many parks worth exploring in New York City! It would be impossible to discuss parks in New York City without first mentioning Central Park. For many locals and visitors, Central Park is seen as the “crown jewel” of the city. This park, which boasts nearly 800 acres of land, is the perfect place for a jog, a sightseeing experience, or a simple peaceful stroll. Central Park is not your average park- the massive size and location of this park also makes it an amazing venue for concerts and street performances. A visit to Central Park is not something you would want to miss out on. If you are traveling with family or children, be sure to check out the Central Park Zoo. A visit to The Battery is an undisputed must if you plan on sightseeing Ellis Island and The Statue of Liberty. This park, located on the southern tip of Manhattan, is an ideal location for sightseeing the New York Harbor. Even if you do not plan on taking a journey to Ellis Island, The Battery offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty. Bring your camera and take in the spectacular views of this historic park!

Museums in Manhattan

Manhattan, NYC is famously home to some of the most prestigious and influential museums in the world, making it no surprise that they attract millions of visitors every single year. If you are a fashion lover like myself, make sure to schedule a visit to The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT,) a museum dedicated to the history of fashion and design. The Museum at FIT offers a deep dive into the world of fashion, textiles, and accessories, while focusing on both historical and contemporary styles.
